How Do I... Watch Roku or Amazon FireTV?
How do I… watch the Roku or Amazon Fire TV?
You can control your Roku or Fire TV with your Control4 system, reducing the number of remotes you need to keep lying around.
The Roku or Fire TV would appear in the Watch experience of the user interface. Inside you see all of your available video devices. For easier access, tap and hold your favorite apps to Favorite to room to make them available from the Room screen.
Otherwise you can tap your Roku or Fire TV to select it. Your Control4 system will automatically take care of the rest: all the right devices will turn on, and they will switch to the appropriate inputs.
Meanwhile, the interface automatically jumped to the device control page. Here you can control your volume with a tap, or with the slider, as well as the option to mute.
While on the Roku or Fire TV menu, I can tap the directional pad to move up/down/left/right to select a streaming service, and then navigate around again and tap to select what I would like to watch. And once the show begins I can play/pause or skip forward or skip back.
The Menu button would open the menu for that movie, or for that streaming service, while Home would take me back to the Roku or Fire TV’s main menu.
This button brings up the gesture pad where you can swipe up, down, left or right, and you can tap to select. The Menu and Cancel – or BACK – buttons are still available if needed.
If you want to return to the traditional device control page, tape Device Control here.
If you want to finish your movie in another room, tap share media, tap the circle to select which room you want to add, and tap done.
When are done, just tap the Power button to turn everything off. And that’s how you watch your Roku or Fire TV!
