How do I… watch satellite or cable?

You can control your satellite box or cable box with your Control4 system, reducing the number of remotes you need to keep lying around.  

The satellite or cable box would appear in the watch experience of the user interface. Inside you see all of your available video devices.  

Here you might see a channels option. When you tap it, you will see all of your favorite, or most used channels. Tapping a channel will power up all of the devices, switch them to the correct inputs, and take you directly to that channel. For easier access, tap and hold your favorite channels  to favorite to room to make them available from the room screen.  

Otherwise  you can tap your satellite or cable box to select it. Your Control4 system will automatically take care of the rest: all the right devices will turn on, and they will switch to the appropriate inputs.  

Meanwhile, the interface automatically jumped to the device control page. Here you can control your volume with a tap, or with the slider, as well as the option to mute.  

You can tap channel up or channel down, you can tap the channel number to go directly to a channel. In the navigation bar, tap DVR, guide or menu to use those options tap the directional pad to move up/down/left/right, or page up and page down to navigate faster.  

And once you have settled on a show, you can play/pause or skip forward or skip back, or tap record to save it to your DVR.

This button brings up the gesture pad where you can swipe up, down, left or right, and you can tap to select. The menu and cancel – or back – buttons are still available if needed.  

If you want to return to the traditional device control page, tap device control.  

If you want to finish your show in another room, tap share media, tap the circle to select which room you want to add, and tap done.  

When are done, just tap the power button to turn everything off. And that’s how you watch your satellite or cable box!
